Josie and Abraham from Hocking Stuart Preston worked on the sale of my property. They were very patient and kept me well informed across the whole process. The inspection process, the sale process and the marketing/advertising process were all great. What I didn't enjoy was the signing contract process. I found the system to eSign didn't work on mobile or tablet devices and only worked on Google Chrome browsers. That was probably the only difficulty I had, other than that the end to end process was very good.

Joe is professional and gave his advice to do some minor renovations to dress up the house to be very presentable and it worked a treat! Prospective purchasers were impressed. Joe is a great communicator and kept us informed in the weeks leading up to the auction date. Joe is pro-active and has some great strategies to maximise the sale price. In the end, our townhouse was sold a day before the auction as a purchaser made a very good bid and we accepted it as the price was slightly above our expectation and we did want to risk a lower price if we went ahead with the auction. My experience so far with Hocking Stuart Preston has exceeded my expectations. I had no end of issues with the last rental I was in (mould, leaking walls, broken appliances) and after 2 years of unanswered phone calls and emails, I was told the owner was selling with little to no warning. I went into a new lease with trepidation after being treated so poorly by my previous property manager, but am happy to say that I have had a completely different experience with Hocking Stuart Preston. I had an issue with the stove after just moving in (property was vacant for some time) and it was fixed less than 24 hours later. The responsiveness every time I have contacted my property manager has been extremely quick and they actually go out of their way to follow up. It has made such a huge difference to know that I can reach out and actually have someone follow up on my behalf, and also in a friendly and respectful manner.

Cathal was great to work with, was responsive and informative on the processes and communication. Could not fault Cathal on his communication and understanding of our situation. Note: the problems we encountered were with the processes themselves (or the timelines) and with our lack of understanding on “the next steps” for bank/conveyancing etc. we are in nether. Country vic, where a contract does not need to be signed for the offer. This then started a chain reaction of not meeting deposit terms, organising building inspection, then following up with the cooling off period. Although “preapproved”, the bank and there processes held up deposit. Adding a lot of confusion, and time urgent items, which is extremely stressful and affected our family/life/work. Understanding you work for the vendor, but not sure if this is a new Melbourne thing because of the market - it did not occur like this when we bought in Melb about 15 yrs ago.
