Yanchep
What once began as a tiny crayfishing settlement, Yanchep was put on the map in the 1980s with the development of the Club Capricorn holiday village and Atlantis Marine Park, famed for its dolphin shows. The sites were redeveloped to make way for residential housing, and Yanchep became favoured for young families and couples seeking affordable coastal living.
Today, over 8,000 residents have made this coastal suburb home. Located 56 kilometres north of Perth and falling under the dynamic City of Wanneroo, and covering an impressive 220 kilometres, Yanchep includes a shopping centre, several schools and sporting facilities.
Despite its development, Yanchep has retained its holiday vibe with long sandy beaches such as Yanchep Beach, Capricorn Beach and Yanchep Lagoon. Yanchep National Park is a big drawcard for the Yanchep Inn, which includes a restaurant and accommodation, chocolate shop, Crystal Cave, koala park, golf, scenic flights and bushwalking, including the Ghost House Walk Trail.
