West End
West End is a suburb along the Brisbane River known for its vibrant, bohemian vibe and excellent café and shopping scene. It is ideally located less than a kilometre from the city centre.
As one of Brisbane’s most multicultural and artistic suburbs, West End is home to a mix of people. It has two main dining and entertainment hubs, Boundary Street and Hardgrave Street, while the residential streets are quiet and leafy. It also boasts green spaces such as Davies Park, Orleigh Park and South Brisbane Riverside Lands Park, many of which have picnic areas, biking trails and sporting fields. The scenic Riverside Walk attracts cyclists and walkers. There are plenty of stand-alone shops, and Toowong Village and Centro Milton are close by for broader needs. Parents and students have a range of primary and high schools to choose from, and the University of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology are nearby.
West End is well-serviced by public transport. The CityCat is a popular travel method, taking off from the wharf on Orleigh Street. A number of bus routes also run through the area, including the CityGlider, which departs every five minutes during peak times.
The West End property market is also diverse, with modern and older apartment complexes, heritage homes and cottages on offer.
