Nowra
Bustling and energetic, Nowra is the South Coast region’s major commercial hub and is situated on the banks of the beautiful Shoalhaven River. The popular riverside urban centre takes its name from an aboriginal word for Black Cockatoo and offers the best of both worlds with excellent shopping amenities and employment opportunities, as well as a picturesque location surrounded by pristine beaches, mountains and national parks.
Situated about 160km south of Sydney, this well-established city is a favourite among families because of the large-sized blocks, wide range of home styles and convenient positioning that offers easy access to beaches, shops and the area’s great schools. There are three public high schools, seven public primary schools, and a choice of religious schools. Nowra is also home to a campus for the University of Wollongong.
If you live in Nowra, there’s a good chance you’re employed in retail, health or defence. The town is home to the expansive Stockland Nowra Shopping Centre, Nowra Mall and a range of specialty boutiques, two hospitals, including a specialist cancer and stroke facility, and the HMAS Albatross - the main naval air station for the Royal Australian Navy's aviation branch, the Fleet Air Arm.
So for the ideal combination of space, amenity, community-friendly surrounds and relaxed riverside ambience, Nowra is the perfect place to live, work and play.
