Albion
Very friendly, peaceful and charming, Albion is definitely one of Melbourne’s hidden gems. The small suburb is located 14 kms west of Melbourne’s CBD and is bordered on the north by Ballarat Road, the south by Forrest Street, the west by Kororoit Creek and the east by Anderson Road.
A family-centric neighbourhood with a great sense of community, Albion boasts excellent proximity to the city (just 15 minutes), Ring Road and the airport. It offers great transport services as well as plenty of shopping options, with the Perth Avenue shops including Sadie Black Café, Mitko Deli and Cinnabuns French Bakery and the Sunshine Market within walking distance.
Stony Creek, Kororoit Creek and Selwyn Park provide an abundance of nature and green space with opportunities for kids and adults alike to enjoy the weekend - whether it’s walking tracks or sports that takes your fancy, in Albion, it’s there.
The village features mainly Federation-style weatherboard houses and California bungalows, as well as a variety of houses from the 1950s, also mainly of weatherboard. The land sizes are generous and there are also modern style homes and new townhouses for the young professionals.
So for an attractive old town which is nice and close to the city but enjoys tranquility and ease, Albion makes a fine choice.
