Director Focus - Andrew James

Andrew James heads up the team in Armadale, throughout his time he has learnt a thing or two about hot auctions.   But what exactly is a hot auction?

A hot auction happens when a number of things all align.  Firstly there are a number of buyers competing together, say two to three, so as the auctioneer you can control the tempo and bring a high degree of energy and fun.

The other thing is to push the buyer to pay a premium, as you are out there to perform and maximise value on behalf of the vendor.

An auction is such a popular way to sell because it creates market value and also has the ability to create competition, which often delivers a higher result than expected.

It’s really important that the auctioneer brings a sense of fun and can engage with the crowd.  You must enjoy it otherwise no one else will, so you really are putting on a show, not just selling a home.   It’s this mixture of energy, performance, and professionalism that makes a great auctioneer.
